Moisturize Dry Skin!

Dry skin doesn’t just need lotion. It needs strategy. For years, I thought piling on thick creams was the answer. Sometimes that works — but if dead skin is sitting on the surface, hydration can’t do much.
The real key is prep, layering, and sealing everything in properly. Here’s my simple three-step routine when my skin feels tight, flaky, or dull!

1. Exfoliating Wash Cloth

Before adding moisture, remove what’s blocking it. An exfoliating wash cloth gently buffs away buildup while you’re in the shower. Nothing aggressive — just enough texture to smooth the surface and help products absorb better afterward.

2. Aveda Stress-Fix Body Oil

Oil on damp skin is a game changer. Right after showering — before fully drying off, I apply a few drops of Aveda Stress-Fix Body Oil and massage it in. Damp skin helps lock in hydration, and the oil creates a nourishing barrier that keeps moisture from escaping. The scent is calming and spa-like, which turns this into more than just a skincare step.

3. EOS Shea Better Body Lotion

Now we seal it in. After the oil has absorbed slightly, I go in with EOS Shea Better Body Lotion. It’s creamy but not heavy, and it spreads easily without leaving a greasy layer. Layering lotion over oil might sound extra, but it makes a huge difference.
When you layer intentionally, dryness doesn’t stand a chance. And the glow that comes with well-moisturized skin? That’s just a bonus.
